1. What should I bring?
We recommend that you wear layered outdoor clothing suitable for the season.  In Arizona, that usually means come prepared for anything from 30 degrees F to 110 degrees F.  Always carry at least two liters of water per person.  If you are bringing your own vehicle, make sure your spare tire and stock jack are on board, and in good working order.  Sedona Jeep School instructors all carry a portable off road recovery kits with them.

2. How far in advance do I need to make reservations?
We recommend 4 to 6 weeks.  Often, there are courses still available with just a few days notice, so please don’t hesitate to ask.

3. Are gift cards available?
Yes! We are happy to take a credit card payment over the phone and send you a gift card for a specific course type or any dollar amount.  If you are someone who waits until the last minute and needs something immediately, we can email you a version that you can print at home on standard paper. 4. Can my spouse/friend/relative come with me?
Absolutely!  We frequently have clients who want to share the driving, or just have passengers who want to observe.  There is no additional charge for your passengers, but we remind you that this is an instructional course, not a fun family outing--we do NOT recommend that you bring children or pets. 

5. What if it rains?
It is unusual for Arizona to get enough rain that it causes problems or closures on our trails.  And certainly, any capable 4-wheel-drive is not going to be thwarted by a little precipitation.  However, in extremely nasty, wet weather we will cancel classes for comfort’s sake.  Since we are all in, out, under and all around the vehicle frequently during the course, we have found that our clients glean much more out of the off road lessons when they are moderately comfortable, not shivering in cold, windy rain or the like.

6. What if I get stuck?
It is all part of the fun!  Seriously, getting stuck is one of the biggest fears that people have about venturing into the backcountry.  We usually don’t try to get a client stuck accidentally during the course (though sometimes intentionally), but it does happen frequently.  If you get stuck, it serves as a great opportunity for learning simple and effective recovery techniques.  Once you learn a few tricks and techniques, you will not only feel the apprehension melting away, but you are much less likely to actually get stuck in the first place.

7. Will I damage my 4x4?
We can’t promise that you won’t get some dings or scratches, but it is unusual for a vehicle to sustain even a scratch during the course.  After all, Jeep School is about teaching you to bring yourself and your vehicle back safe, happy and in one piece.

8. What about bathroom breaks?
Some areas have restrooms nearby, but for the most part you may expect bathroom stops to consist of thick patches of trees or shrubs.  You may wish to carry toilet paper in a ziplock bag in order to pack out used paper products.  We cover “bathroom etiquette” during the course.

9. Are there any age restrictions?
Jeep School participating drivers must be 18 years of age or older. Jeep rentals require 25 years of age or older, driver's license, credit card, and full-coverage auto insurance in the renter's name.
